September is here and I announce the balm season to be officially open.
Don’t get me wrong, balms never really go out of style, that is out of season but with the colder months ahead of us, your skin would be appreciating these water-less formulas even more.
Before we look into balms per skin type, I want to cover some facial balms basics.
Use a little bit. If it’s your first time using a balm, or even this balm, then start with the tiniest amount. The balms we offer are so potent that you need just a teeny-weeny bit.
Especially if you’re going to layer the balm with an oil.
Or especially if your skin is on the oily side.
Apply on moist skin and finish off with another spritz or two of your mist to help with the absorption. This is one of my favorite tricks.
An absolute favorite here is Leahlani Bless Balm with its delicate and silken texture.
If you're looking for something less scented, Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm Cream will make you swoon.
This right here is like choosing which of your kids is your favourite one as dry skin and balms are meant for each other.
Virtually any balm from our store is suited for dry skin.
There are a few balms which come to my mind though which are worth mentioning.
For very dry skin - La Bella Figura Rainforest Hydration Treatment is what you’ve been looking for.
Multitasker – Lina Hanson Global Global Treasures which also doubles as an eye treatment
Earthwise Beauty Tigress balm has an easy-to-spread lightweight formula specially formulated for acne- and congestion-prone skin.
Everything you would need an anti-ageing balm to do - stimulate and lengthen the life of collagen, heal damaged cellular structure, soothe skin, regenerate skin cells, even skin tone, reduce fine lines, and scavenge free radicals....
....is packed in a jar of Laurel Whole Plant Organics Restore Nightly.
While the two favourites in this category are Laurel Whole Plant Organics Healing Balm and Earthwise Beauty Yasuni I want to talk point out a balm which is a bit under the radar and usually takes a bit of convincing to try but once our clients give it a try, we always get a thank you letter back. Just saying...
The balm I'm talking about is Soapwalla the Balm. Give it a try and you will see what I mean.
