Everything you need to know about La Bella Figura Vitamin D+Ergothioneine Deep Serum

When I first heard of the Vitamin D+Ergothioneine Deep Serum by La Bella Figura apart from excited (to say the very least) I was overwhelmed with questions.

The standard things like what does the serum do, how to apply it are covered on the product page but assuming you're like me and you want to know more about this serum, here are a few things worth mentioning.

Why is Vitamin D good for the skin?

From all the vitamins touted by brands as beneficial for the skin, Vitamin D is one I don’t hear much about.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble hormone which has many health benefits. In the context of skincare there are researches showing that D has powerful anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties.

In the words of La Bella Figura: “Vitamin D contributes to skin’s ability to repair and metabolism and aids in keeping skin clear. Some dermatologists and scientists believe Vitamin D deficiency can be a contributing factor to acne.

What are adaptogens?

Adaptogens are plant extracts which help the body handle stress. They have been used for hundreds, if not thousands, of years in the Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine.

Stress has a significant negative impact on the skin. Increased inflammation, premature ageing, imbalance of hormones are but a few of the results of stress.

It’s important to point out that adaptogens help the body adapt and normalize rather than push the body in one direction only.

What do adaptogens do for the skin?

Adaptogens have the ability to decrease inflammation, decrease oil production, protect and provide antioxidants, as well as hydrate.

Here quality is again of great importance as adaptogens need to have bioavailability in order to do their work

What is Ergothioneine?

Ergothioneine just proves the rule “if you can’t pronounce the name of the ingredient, don’t use it” wrong.

I’ve been practicing pronouncing “ergothioneine” for weeks now and it remains a tong twister.

Now to the useful stuff.

Ergothioneine is a powerful antioxidant. It is the perfect antidote for a lack-luster skin and a much-desired ingredient for dry skin, as well as skin which lacks vitality and requires a little boost.

How should I integrate the Vitamin D+Ergothioneine Deep Serum in my skincare regimen?

The recommendation is to use the Vitamin D+Ergothioneine Deep Serum both morning and evening on cleansed and toned skin and then follow with Barbary Fig Seed Oil or Crema Virtuosa.

I assume you already have other skincare products at home so it’s important to remember that Vitamin D is fat soluble so you need to combine it with oils and creams.

Here’s how Victoria, founder of La Bella Figura uses the Vitamin D+Ergothioneine Deep Serum

“I like using Vitamin D+Ergo at night before I apply Aria. I mist my skin with Jardin de Fleurs after cleansing then apply the serum followed by Aria. You can also use it during the day if you like and follow it with our Vitamin C moisturizer, Crema Supernova. Personally I like using my Vitamin C serum during the day because it’s our Vitamin D+Ergothioneine serum’s counterpart and it works to brighten and tone, while the D serum works to repair, strengthen and rebuild, but you can use these products in whatever way suits your skincare needs.”

Let me knos if you have other questions and I'll be happy to add the answers here.

For a very long time, over two years now, I have been trying hard to bend reality and make two separate interests of mine blend – empowering beauty and women empowerment. While the two have something in common, they remain two separate things.
