Somebody please tell me where the pause button is so summer never goes away.
And summer just like any season has its perks and extra challenges for the skin. We all know we should wear SPF, stay hydrated, etc so this is not what this article is about.
What I’d like to share with you are some of my favorite and not so common summer skincare tips and tricks.

There is a thing called free radicals which break cells down over time, including skin cells. Although free radicals are produced naturally in the body, and there are many external causes for them – sugar, fried food, smoking, alcohol, pollution, one of the big contributors remains sun exposure.
Sunscreen helps with prevention of free radicals and some repair of the damage they cause. To fully combat free radicals, you need a lot of antioxidants in your diet as well as skincare along with regular use of broad spectrum sunscreen.
There are products like Laurel WPO Sun Damage Repair Serum and La Bella Figura Daily Elements Defense Face Oil which are formulated to repair and prevent UV damage. Incorporating one of these in your skincare regimen would be something you would appreciate in the long run.
Preferably avoid sunburns altogether (duh) but in case you end up with one, even a mild one, Laurel WPO Healing Balm will save the day and your skin. It calms the inflammation, promotes cellular healing, calms and cools the skin.
Don’t be fooled by the gentle way the Healing Balm works. You won’t feel stinging, burning or anything like that but that doesn’t mean that nothing is happening.
Trust me, the Healing Balm regularly saves me when I burn myself while cooking as well as my husband on the rare occasions that he has a sunburn.

Keep a bottle of your favorite facial mist in the refrigerator. Every now and then spritz on your face for some extra refreshment and hydration.
Oldie but goodie.
Have you ever had cooled cucumber slices on your eyes? Feels fantastic, doesn’t it?
Now imagine that feeling on a hot day but this time it’s on your face.
I love to pop Soapwalla Phosphorescence Mask in the fridge to cool down for a few minutes while I cleanse my skin and exfoliate. I scoop the amount I’m going to need in one of my mask bowls and put that one in the fridge. When I'm done exfoliating, I take my bowl out of the refrigerator spread this feather-like, jelly mask on my skin and oh my… Because the mask has been in the refrigerator for just a few minutes it’s pleasantly cool instead of too cold.
